Frequently Asked Roofing Questions
HOW DO I KNOW IF I NEED A NEW ROOF?
- Severe wind, hail or storm damage
- Curling, cupping or missing shingles
- Evidence of leaks on your ceilings
- Cracked or discolored attic roofing or interior drywall
- Rusted or missing flashing
If your asphalt shingle roof is 15 years old or more, we recommend scheduling a free inspection and a no-obligation quote.
HOW WILL YOU KNOW IF I NEED A NEW ROOF OR ROOF REPAIR?
Some roofing companies will say you need a new roof no matter what. At Silver Leaf Contracting, we’ll do everything we can to salvage your roof and save you money. However, the aforementioned signs generally indicate the need for a roof replacement. During your consultation, we will inspect your roof, give you an honest assessment and explain your options.
WILL MY INSURANCE COMPANY PAY FOR MY NEW ROOF?
The best way to know what is covered is to contact your insurance provider. Your coverage will depend on the age of the roof, where you live and other factors. In our experience, insurance providers cover “acts of God,” or unpreventable weather events. Many will not cover damage due to neglect. Silver Leaf Contracting can help you file your claim and will provide all the photos and documentation you need for it to be successful.
IS IT TOO COLD TO INSTALL MY ROOF?
This will depend on the type of roofing you have chosen to install. Asphalt shingles, for example, do best at temperatures of 40 degrees and above. Tile, slate and many commercial applications can be installed in almost any temperature.
WHAT KIND OF ROOFING MATERIAL SHOULD I CHOOSE
When you choose Silver Leaf Contracting to be your roofing company, you will have no shortage of roofing options. We install and repair asphalt, rubber, slate and metal roofing on residential and commercial buildings alike.
